Big Brother’s arsenal of security equipment just got a new addition in the form of a remote fingerprint scanner. Aren’t we glad to live in such a secure world? So secure that soon it’s going to be little different from a prison, except that the walls surrounding us are invisible and instead of guards, we have cameras and scanners watching over us.

Lee County students might one day pay for their school lunches by flashing their palms.

The district’s food department told the school board Tuesday that it wants to test a voluntary palm reader scanning system in several school cafeterias.

PUPILS at one of Camden’s top secondary schools may have to provide fingerprints to get their school lunches. Scanners could be installed at Parliament Hill School in Highgate Road, Highgate, to speed up queues in the canteen.
